Frank Powell has been working on cars & trucks since 1984 in the SF Bay Area. Frank grew up in Orinda, CA, and graduated from Miramonte High School.

Frank opened his first shop in Walnut Creek in 2007, with the " Frank & Paul's Auto Repair" opening up on the hill by Highway 24. Paul & Frank grew the business and needed more space - Frank opened Top Shop Auto in Lafayette just a few miles away. Paul has continued servicing customers up on the hill & now, after ten years in Lafayette, Top Shop Auto has found a much-needed larger space back in Walnut Creek. We have groomed a fine crew to take care of your car & light truck needs at the new shop in downtown Walnut Creek.

Sourcing, repairing, and building older vehicles is an art form rather than an exact science. We care deeply about bringing your vision to life safely, and we want your experience with us to be smooth and stress-free. Here is how we work together:

Patience Pays Off: Classic vehicle timelines fluctuate. Because every project is unique, exact shop start times and completion dates cannot be guaranteed, but we promise the wait is worth the quality.
Hands-on Discovery: Definitive parts and repair steps are revealed only after disassembly and inspection. If things change along the way, you will be the first to know.
Stay Connected: We will regularly share our best time and cost estimates. Please feel free to stop by the shop whenever you like to see your vehicle's transformation.

· No Financial Surprises: We bill for time and materials. If a project requires more hours or parts than anticipated, we will pause and update your estimate before moving forward.

· Easy Step-by-Step Payments: Work and parts ordering begin with a 50% deposit. A 25% payment is due at the halfway point, and the final 25% balance is due upon pickup.

· Crafting Safe Modifications: Custom design and modifications require extra planning. We take the necessary time to ensure your vehicle is as safe and reliable as it is beautiful.

· Your Warranty: Our parts pricing covers expert sourcing research. We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 24-month / 24,000-mile parts and labor warranty.
